It's no time to be doing less of God's work! Here at Young Disciple, we're moving forward! Truth 4 Youth has been translated into both Spanish and French, and we are continuing on with Swahili, Romanian, Yoruba, and many others! We're also making plans for another Mission Experience. And the Sabbath School resources that complement Young Disciple magazine are constantly being improved, to more effectively teach young people how to have their own relationship with Jesus!
We can't do this work without you. It always cheers us to see others pitching in to help YD—God's ministry. Some volunteer their time, others donate funds, and many pray for us! As we partner together, the work goes forward with even greater power!
Look below for several exciting projects you can join us in partnership with. You can help us to make them a reality! There are also updates on projects both in-progress and completed—projects that you have made possible!
Where Needed Most
If you would simply like to help us with our day-to-day expenses, mark your donation "Where Needed Most."
Camp Improvement Project
Young Disciple Camp’s greatest practical need is adequate restroom facilities, but the current property does not have enough level land to provide required drain fields. For more than three years the ministry has looked at the adjacent 80-acre parcel in hopes that it could be purchased. When the property owner indicated a willingness to sell, we started to work with state and tribal agencies, attorneys and realtors. It was thrilling to launch the project during YD Camp 2012. The response from campers and staff was amazing and encouraging.
The owner gave us the first option to purchase the property. We surveyed it, hired an attorney, and made a formal offer. However, after agreeing to the price and conditions of sale, the owner suddenly sold the property to another party. Although we are disappointed, we take courage in this new development. God has promised to supply all our needs, and to work all things together for good. He knows many things that we cannot know, and He has the best plan for YD Camp. Because it seems that He is pointing toward developing the existing property, we have asked engineers to look at any possible options for installing a septic system on the current YD property. They have offered several possible solutions, and we are much in prayer as we put together plans and dialogue with various governmental agencies.
We will begin moving forward as soon as a new plan is developed and approved. Please watch for updates. Your prayers and support are much appreciated.
West-Central Africa T4Y Project
Recently the West-Central Africa Division of the Seventh-day Adventist church asked Young Disciple Ministries to help them obtain 5,000 copies of Truth 4 Youth, to be used in every church in every country of the division! They said, “It is our goal to win five million children in our territory with the gospel!” What an opportunity! Your gift of $1,000 can win 25,000 children; and $480 can win 12,000 children. $40 will enable us to ship one complete T4Y program—and each program can win at least 1,000 children! Consider how you can help today!
Youth Bible Camps
Each summer, always with God's help, another successful Young Disciple Youth Bible Camp program goes down in history.
We wish you could hear the campers' testimonies each Saturday night at camp. Dozens come forward to express their newfound love for Christ and commit their lives to Him!
Here's just a sample:
"I have grown in Christ, and have recommitted my life to God."
"I was challenged, stretched, and I came to fully realize my need for Christ."
"Through all the different teachers, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and helped me to surrender 100%! Praise the Lord!"
The camp program costs more per camper than is covered by camper fees. Contributions make up this difference. There is always a large, ongoing need in this area. You contribution can make a difference in the lives of young people. Please consider how you can help! Above all, uplift these youth to God in prayer!
Worthy Camper Fund
Your contributions to the Worthy Camper fund will help sponsor campers who would not otherwise have been able to have a life-changing week at camp. Who knows? They may meet you in Heaven and thank you for your gift that gave them life!
Equipment & Office Production
As computers and other equipment wear out or become obsolete, we must replace them. We also must keep the lights on, run payroll, pay the printing bills, and keep supplies on hand. As a non-profit supporting ministry, we rely on the contributions of people blessed by our work.
There is a man in Ghana who distributes Young Disciple magazine and The Great Controversy in as large of numbers as he can supply! He says, "So many people are coming to get your literature. Many repent and get baptized. Our small office is very busy. People are coming as if I give them a lot of money, but it's the Word of God! They come asking questions and then repent from their sins. Your literature is a net for fish!"
We have other similar requests for literature—many more than we can fill. In fact, the success of this program depends entirely on the generous donations of our supporters. Perhaps your family or church would like to make a project of sending literature to this man and others like him!
